Jennifer Lopez Talks ‘PTSD’ Before Ben Affleck Wedding, Embracing ‘Bennifer’ Nickname on ‘Kimmel’

Jennifer Lopez stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday night (Jan. 18) to plug her new rom-com, Shotgun Wedding. And while the movie starring Lopez and Josh Duhamel alongside Golden Globe winner Jennifer Coolidge, rocker Lenny Kravitz and Callie Hernandez looks very cute, let’s be honest, the real wedding Jimmy wanted to talk about was Bennifer’s take two. Kimmel congratulated the singer/actress/dancer on the six month anniversary of her Las Vegas wedding to actor Ben Affleck as JLo unfolded the tangled tale of how she and Affleck finally made it to the aisle after months of angst and agita. “We were planning to get married in August in Savannah [Georgia],” she said of the proper nuptials the couple were arranging for friends and family at the actor’s southern estate. “And it was so stressful,” she said. “And a month before… and I don’t know if you guys know this, but 20 years ago we were supposed to get married and it all kind of fell apart back then and this time we, I absolutely had a little PTSD.” Though they were both happy that their decades-long love affair was finally going to be official, Lopez said the planning was so nerve-wracking that one day Affleck said, “‘f–k it, let’ just go to Vegas and get married tonight.’” So, of course, they did… but only after Lopez finished her rehearsals that day and Affleck took care of all the details. “It was amazing, it was the best night of our lives,” she said of the Sin City wedding that featured two of their five shared children from previous marriages as witnesses and which found the A-listers waiting in line at the county clerk’s office with some normies just before midnight waiting their turn for the proper paperwork. Most importantly, after two decades, Lopez confirmed that not only was there a new wedding ring, but Affleck had to ask her to marry him all over again to make it official. Kimmel also wondered if Lopez was okay with the celeb portmanteau Bennifer and JLo said she’s learned to embrace it after initially being meh on it. “Actually it wasn’t a bad thing even years ago but I think it became a thing where people made fun of it,” she said, noting that other couples were subject to the same treatment in the years after as blending celeb couple names became a thing. Luckily for them, the famed Little White Wedding Chapel agreed to stay open late for them and even offered to have their Elvis impersonator officiant do the deed, which the couple politely declined. And even though Kimmel griped that he was not invited to any of the couple’s weddings, he still got them a very appropriate gift, a pair of sterling silver bride and groom Dunkin’ Donuts cups in keeping with Affleck’s love of the chain. In addition to talking about the “Dear Ben Pt. 2” song on her upcoming This Is Me… Now album, the singer was also surprised when Kravitz dropped in unexpectedly (via a fake helicopter landing on the roof bit) to invite the entire studio audience to that night’s Shotgun Wedding premiere. Country’s Top Albums and Songs Had a Case of Déjà Vu in 2022

In a year when a lot of country music’s top product was a repeat, Zach Bryan provided a slightly new sonic shade. His lonesome “Something in the Orange” racked up 432.1 million on-demand audio and video streams to become the most streamed country song of 2022, according to year-end figures provided by Luminate. Likewise, his album American Heartbreak, released May 20, landed at No. 2 among the Top Country Albums, accruing over 1 million total equivalent album units. American Heartbreak, Luke Combs’ Growin’ Up (No. 7) and Bailey Zimmerman’s Leave the Light On (No. 10) were the only new titles among the top 10 most popular country albums for 2022, ruled by Morgan Wallen’s 2021 release Dangerous: The Double Album for the second year in a row. [articleembed id=”1235184527″ title=”Inside the Return of Record-Breaking Vinyl Sales” image=”1235183020″] In fact, five of the seven albums that repeated among this year’s top 10 finished in the exact same chart position they occupied one year ago: Dangerous, Taylor Swift’s Red (Taylor’s Version) (No. 3), Combs’ This One’s for You (No. 5), Wallen’s If I Know Me (No. 6) and Chris Stapleton’s Traveller (No. 8). Four of last year’s 10 most streamed country songs were also holdovers from 2021’s top 10, though only one resided in the exact same position: Stapleton’s “Tennessee Whiskey” at No. 4. The other three returnees among the top streamers: Wallen’s “Wasted On You” and “Whiskey Glasses,” plus Walker Hayes’ “Fancy Like.” While the successful titles remained a tad static, the modes of consumption continued to change, with streaming up and music ownership dropping over 20%. Country’s total on-demand streams, audio and video combined — including user-generated content (UGC) — rose 9.8% to 92.5 billion streams, an increase that trailed the overall industry, which rose 12.4% to 1.27 trillion streams. (Album titles and album chart rankings by equivalent album units do not include UGC streams, but UGC is included in Luminate’s industry volume numbers. UGC streams are not factored into any of Billboard’s weekly charts.) [articleembed id=”1235151352″ title=”Too Many Songs, Not Enough Hits: Pop Music Is Struggling to Create New Stars” image=”1235150580″] Country’s total equivalent album units increased by 4.8% to 75.7 million units, compared with the overall industry, which expanded 9.2% to 974.9 million units. In 2021, album sales grew in the industry, but prerecorded audio purchases slid again in 2022, continuing a trend in the streaming era. Country album sales were down 25%, checking in at 7.1 million. The industry’s album sales dropped 8.2% to 100.1 million. Track sales took a dramatic nosedive — country volume fell 21.1% to 18.8 million units. The overall industry’s track sales deteriorated even more, tumbling 25.1% to 152 million. Swift’s Red (Taylor’s Version) claimed the No. 1 position among Top-Selling Country Albums for 2022, repeating her ranking from one year ago behind 228,000 purchases. Cody Johnson’s “ ’Til You Can’t” took Top-Selling Country Digital Song after moving 145,000 units, edging out Hayes’ No. 2 entry, “AA,” by a mere 1,000 purchases. Cardi B Didn’t Submit ‘WAP’ To The Grammys Because The Internet Made Her ‘Afraid Of Winning’

Cardi B didn’t hold back on her appearance on The Jason Lee Show for the debut episode. About cosmetic surgery, she argued: “I just be feeling like, if I wanna correct something, I want to do a little something-something, I don’t give a f*ck: I’m gonna do it. I like being perfect, I like a certain type of body for myself, and if I want to do it, I do it.” She also touched on awards. The rapper has one Grammy, but she could’ve likely gone more if she’d submitted her and Megan Thee Stallion’s iconic anthem “WAP” to the Recording Academy, but she didn’t. “You know what?” she said. “This is something that — it’s like, I need to stop letting the internet control my life. Because I didn’t want to submit ‘WAP’ because I was afraid that if I win or if I… you know what’s so crazy? The internet got me even afraid of winning. That is insane.” “WAP” got a lot of predictable backlash from conservatives during its release. Ben Shapiro’s reaction was probably the funniest, as he read it line by line in disbelief, not realizing it would end up memed forever. Watch the episode above. Lewis Capaldi stops Manchester concert as fight breaks out in crowd during Hold Me While You Wait

The singer’s UK tour has been pretty eventful so far (Picture: Andrew Benge/Redferns) Lewis Capaldi was forced to stop singing after a fight broke out during his Manchester gig this week. The Scottish star was left stunned after the alleged tiff broke out on Wednesday, in which a woman was escorted from the AO Arena to booing crowds. Lewis was midway through singing Hold Me While You Wait when he was forced to stop and turn the floor lights on so security could work out what was going on. The 26-year-old singer said: ‘They are scrapping in the crowd there. Erm, we aregoing to have to get them out. We can’t be fighting.’ He added, referring to his power ballad: ‘What a weird song to fight to. Bizarre, bizarre.’ Supporting the singer, the crowd began to chant, ‘Oh Lewis Capaldi’, to get him going again. Lewis’ Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent tour kicked off in Leeds on January 14, and is on the road around the whole of the UK for the rest of the month. [metro-video id=”2858923″] Although Lewis brings sincerity to his performances of what are often gutsy, heartfelt love songs, he’s almost just as famous for being a massive joker. The tour has been pretty eventful so far, as a fight also broke out on his opening gig in Leeds – the same night a bra was thrown at him on stage. With the crowd egging him on as they chanted, ‘put it on, put it on’, the Someone You Loved hitmaker donned the grey bra, leaving the Leeds First Direct Arena howling with laughter. ‘This is padded, someone out there is a f*****g liar,’ Capaldi joked. Lewis is a true crowd-pleaser (Picture: tiktok/lewiscapaldi) And it gets more bizarre yet, as the Grace singer’s Sheffield gig proved to be even more memorable: it too involved underwear. This time though, the singer was pelted with some large white Y-fronts bearing the words: ‘Call for fun time Big Boy.’ On the back, along with a phone number, they also read: ‘She’s a freaky girl!’ Unable to resist the comedic value, Lewis, once again, wore the underwear – over his trousers, of course. The now-famous underwear did not disappoint… (Picture: Glenn Ashley/ZUMA Press Wire) …And nor did Lewis (Picture: Glenn Ashley/ZUMA Press Wire) You wouldn’t think it from these stories, but off stage and away from doting fans Lewis has admitted his stardom has actually made finding love more complicated. Speaking to Steven Bartlett on the Diary of a CEO podcast, Lewis shared: ‘At the end of the day, I’m still 25 and people talk about a power imbalance of someone being famous. ‘I’m trying to work that out as well because I don’t want to use my fame, or for that to have any influence over someone I’m dating. [metro-trending-post-strip] ‘What, am I only supposed to date people who are famous? That’s a really weird thing. ‘I’ll admit being on Tinder is a bit weird but I met my last girlfriend on Tinder and she’s f***ing great.’ Got a story? Ice Spice Had The Perfect Response For A Fan Who Criticiqued Her Throwback Outfit

Ice Spice isn’t just in ha mood — she’s the mood. The 23-year-old Bronx, New York drill rapper was neck-and-neck with GloRilla for the rap rookie of the year title in 2022, and she’s keeping that momentum going in 2023. Her success so far hinges on her blunt charisma and a fondness for mid-2000s nostalgia, a preference that often extends to her wardrobe. However, not everybody is as fond of her lewks, as demonstrated by one fan’s response to an outfit of the day photo she posted to her Twitter. “Ice Spice needs a stylist bro, wtf is this??” they asked. Unfazed, Ice Spice clapped back with the perfect response. “U wouldn’t get it,” she razzed. She also retweeted a few behind-the-scenes shots from her recent music video shoot in the same outfit, as well as some fan art. u wouldn’t get it https://t.co/fn6YEmDR6t — Ice Spice ☆ (@icespicee_) January 18, 2023 pic.twitter.com/nZipRxXu24 — jay ☆ #InHaMood (@MUNCHRIH) January 17, 2023 pic.twitter.com/QLYf3E3V7V — Ice Spice ☆ (@icespicee_) January 19, 2023 FWIW, the outfit — a pair of stone-washed jeans with a white camisole bedecked in belts and capped off with a pair of Jordan IV — was something of a mall staple in 2005, and while Ice would only have been five years old at the time, her throwback look is no worse than when my generation was wearing outfits that could’ve worked on the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. With her timeless style and fan-favorite singles “Munch” and “Bikini Bottom” offering a well of quote-worthy bars, it’s probably only a matter of time until Ice Spice’s outfits become inescapable. If and when she hires a stylist, something tells me she won’t be changing up her look too much.
